Position Summary

The Busser supports the service team by maintaining table cleanliness, resetting tables, running food, and ensuring smooth dining room operations. This role is essential to the efficiency and flow of fine-dining service. The ideal candidate is attentive, hardworking, and committed to providing a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests.


Key Responsibilities

Dining Room Support

  • Clear and reset tables quickly and neatly between courses and after guests depart
  • Assist Servers and Food Runners with delivering dishes and maintaining table pacing
  • Refill water or tea, replace utensils, and help maintain table organization

Cleanliness & Presentation

  • Maintain immaculate dining room cleanliness, including floors, service stations, and guest areas
  • Polish glassware, utensils, and service items to fine-dining standards
  • Ensure all service stations are stocked, organized, and ready for service

Coordination & Teamwork

  • Communicate effectively with Servers, Hosts, Runners, and Management
  • Support pre-service setup including linens, silverware, plates, and seasonal décor
  • Assist the FOH team with tasks as needed to ensure seamless service

Guest Interaction

  • Provide warm, respectful, and discreet assistance without interrupting the fine-dining experience
  • Anticipate guest needs, such as clearing plates, refilling water, or resetting utensils
  • Maintain polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times

Safety & Standards

  • Follow all sanitation, hygiene, and safety protocols
  • Keep walkways, service areas, and stations clean and unobstructed
  • Handle all service equipment carefully and professionally


Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of restaurant or hospitality experience (fine dining preferred but not required)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused during busy service periods
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn Japanese service styles and fine-dining standards
